The FirstBurn.

One room. A handful of good people. Cigars, a cocktail, and a conversation that actually matters.

I'm Marty McNair. I'd like you in the room for the very first gathering of the Cigar Chamber of Commerce — an evening I'm hosting to benefit The Jordan McNair Foundation.

Seats are limited. No ticket, no cost to attend — just bring yourself.

Good people. A good cigar.
A reason to gather.

The First Burn is the beginning of the Cigar Chamber of Commerce — a recurring, invitation-only room where business relationships get built slowly and community impact is baked in.

There is no ticket and no cost to attend. Any support for The Jordan McNair Foundation is something we'll talk about in the room, on the night.

Why I'm doing this

Jordan's story is the why.
The room is about what comes next.

A personal note from Marty McNair, founder of The Jordan McNair Foundation.

My son Jordan was 19 when we lost him to a heat-related injury during a college football workout in 2018. He was a son, a teammate, a friend. Out of the worst thing that ever happened to our family, Tonya — Jordan's mother — and I built The Jordan McNair Foundation so that other parents, coaches, and athletes learn the things we didn't know in time.

How to recognize heat illness. How to build a real emergency action plan. How to speak up before it's too late. That's the why. The night itself, though, is about something Jordan would have loved — good people, good conversation, and building each other up.

From Marty

Why this work matters

A short message from Marty about the mission behind the evening.

01

Come for the room

A personal invitation into a carefully assembled group of business owners, sports leaders, friends, and supporters.

02

Stay for the conversation

No long dinner program. No stage full of strangers. One focused discussion, then time to talk like people.

03

Leave connected

Good conversation, a clearer sense of the mission, and a reason to stay in touch after the evening ends.

Your hosts

The people behind
the first list.

The room is intentionally personal. Everyone there is part of the beginning — not an audience, not a ticket buyer, but a founding circle.

Hosted by

Marty McNair

Father of Jordan McNair, founder of The Jordan McNair Foundation, and one of the nation's leading voices on student-athlete safety.

Rick Hancock

The Cigar Chamber of Commerce begins with a simple belief: some of the best business relationships get built slowly, over a cigar, when nobody is in a hurry.

Founding circle

You were on the first list.

That means something. The First Burn is the first room in a community built to return, reconnect, and make a little good together.

The mission stays visible without taking over the room. The goal is to make it easy to understand why you are there — and natural to decide how you want to help.

Stay in the room

Cigars stay lit, glasses stay full, and the room does what it is here to do: connect, talk business, and build something.

The Charter Circle

The First Burn is exactly that —
the first.

The Cigar Chamber of Commerce is built to come back: a recurring, invitation-only room where business relationships get built slowly and community impact is baked in.

Everyone in the room on August 27 is a founding member of that circle. You were on the first list. We'll treat it that way.
